Greenbrier County Commission Awards Lynch Construction Rail Trail Project

Lynch Construction will be the contractor for the Meadow River Rail Trail repairs, formally decided the Greenbrier County Commission during the Tuesday, Feb. 22, meeting.

A contract was awarded for work on the Meadow River Rail Trail after last meeting’s review of bids.

Project leader Matt Ford explained “Chapman Technical Group has reviewed those bids and confirmed that Lynch construction was the low bidder there, total base bid was the lowest and we had four alternates in that bid. My recommendation is for the county to award the contract to lynch construction for the base bid, and alternates one through four.”

Bids to work on 6.23 miles of construction on the Meadow River Rail Trail near Rainelle were opened earlier this month. Each bid totaled as follows, with additional optional costs for more work on top of the base bid:

– Gold Technical LLC of Cabell County bid a base price of $1,090,090.43.
– Virco Contracting of Charleston bid a base price of $690,423.25.
– All Construction of Caldwell bid a base price of $998,226.55.
– Lynch Construction of White Sulphur Springs bid a base price of $680,664.35

The commission approved the hiring of Lynch Construction.
