Widney Park Rail-Trail | West Virginia Rails To Trails

Rail-Trails

Widney Park Rail-Trail is located in the quiet West Virginia community of Durbin. The old railroad town has a charming Main Street with welcoming shops and restaurants and the rail-trail is located just a block south of it. The trail travels east for just shy of a mile along the former timber-hauling Greenbrier Division of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway through pleasant woodlands toward the neighboring community of Frank.

On the trail’s western end, visitors can catch the Durbin Rocket Excursion Train, an antique steam locomotive that offers beautiful views along the Greenbrier River in the Monongahela National Forest. On the north end of Durbin, you can also extend your adventure by hopping on the West Fork Trail, which heads north 22 miles through forested mountainous terrain to Glady.
